PBS is core rules that help our school be a happy and safe place. Our core rules are Respect, Responsibility, Safety and Community. We practice these core values throughout Oakdale School.
September: A school bus demonstration was held on September 28 with all classes boarding a parked bus in a scheduled order. The large poster of bus expectations was on the side of the school bus and each teacher reviewed the rules for Respect, Responsibility, Being Safe and Building Community with their students. Bus drivers will have Tiger Paws to distribute to students who are exemplifying great bus behavior!
Our first PBIS assembly of the year was held on September 30, 2011 at 2:30 pm. Tigger was there to welcome the classes. The PBIS DVD was shown with fifth grade students acting out all of the "kid expectations" for outdoor and indoor recess, hallways, assemblies, cafeteria, bathrooms, fire drills and field trips. Other students held up posters displaying the Four Pillars of Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Build Community. Many staff members remarked that the students exhibited excellent assembly behavor and listened attentively as Mrs. Gregory did the "voice-over" of the DVD (when the audio failed to work). Tiger Paw rings have been given to all staff and Tiger Paw posters are again located outside of all the classrooms.
